Scope 2 guidance case studies: organizations creating, and applying the results of, GHG inventories based on the GHG Protocol scope 2 guidance

These case studies were composed throughout the development of the GHG Protocol Scope 2 Guidance (December 2010-December 2014). Reflecting a range of organization types, sectors and geographies, these studies all address the challenges, opportunities and best practices for accounting and reporting emissions from purchased electricity, steam, heat and cooling (called scope 2 emissions). They highlight how organizations can align electricity purchasing strategies to meet the new Scope 2 Guidance requirements for market-based method accounting.
