Smart Innovation: the opportunity for safer preservatives
Spurring safer chemicals innovation would be vastly improved by access to health and safety information.
EDF’s latest report, Smart Innovation: The Opportunity for Safer Preservatives analyzed hazard assessments of 16 common preservatives in personal care products and offered recommendations on stimulating market innovation for safer chemical and product development. The report details baseline toxicological information on a select set of preservative chemicals used in personal care products, and makes the case for why and how access to uniformly developed sets of chemical health and safety information can help drive safer chemical and product innovation.
